Basics of sculpting on a wheel - children

A children's art workshop teaches clay manipulation using an electric potter's wheel. At the Mian Studio in Medina, participants practice centering, lifting, and shaping clay into symmetrical pots or cups through hands-on, hands-on techniques.

A real pottery experience with professional tools, designed for children from the age of 7.

What happens in the workshop?

The child sits in front of the potter's wheel and begins the first step in pottery: centering the clay on the wheel. Then they practice lifting the clay with their hands to form the walls of the pot, and then adjusting the measurements to achieve pieces of uniform dimensions. Each child leaves with their own piece at the end of the session.

The workshop combines manual skill, patience, and focus.

Why the electric wheel?

Most children's pottery workshops rely on hand-shaping. The electric wheel is a different experience, where children learn to control a moving material using only their hands. This training builds sensory perception and hand-eye coordination in a way that typical art activities don't.

* Day: Every Wednesday

Time: 7:00 - 9:00 PM

Duration: Two hours

* Age group: 7 years and older

* Price: 90 riyals per workshop

What does the price include?

* Pottery clay in the required quantity

Complete shaping tools

* Using an electric wheel

* Direct supervision by the workshop instructor

* Initial burning of the piece (biscuit burning)

Registration, Cancellation, and Item Collection Terms

* Registration for scheduled programs with trainers is required 12 hours before the workshop. Any registration after that will be automatically uploaded to the next meeting according to the program schedule.

* The user can cancel the booking and receive a full refund up to 24 hours before the program or trial date. No refunds, amounts, or compensation will be given after less than 24 hours from the date, and in case of non-attendance.

* The studio is not responsible for pieces that have not been received after 3 months from the date of the workshop, and they will be disposed of as the administration sees fit. The participant is not entitled to claim any refunds or to repeat the experience except by registering a new one.
